2nd May 2013
Windsurfing: Felixstowe dip
Wind Direction: NE
Wind Stength: F 4- 5
Surf / Sea State: flat to swell
Air Temperature: 15C
Sea Temperature: cold
Weather: sunny and warmish
Max Speed: 25.7 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 19 Nn (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Another 5***** afternoon at Felixstowe dip. 5 kiters out, mid tide, sea flat, sun and wind, what more does a man need!
Wind blowing 15-18 NE some swell but mainly flat so rigged Hellcat 7.2 rotational slalom sail with JP 146 Excite ride Pro, what a combination for the conditions, brilliant. The JP is faster smoother than the Tabou rockets and the RRD fire rides, having owned both, and gibing in these conditions is a dream. Only got wet 3 times.
On the water at 2.00pm (faff as no one turned up to zip my drizip!) first run was the best flat out 25.7 kts cruising on flat water for ½ mile just brilliant.
First session was 40 minutes was a little long as fingers got cold even though the sun was out.
Gybes were great as there were plenty of swells near the white marker boy to run off Boom to Boom style. Wind filled in a bit more so switched to the JP 120 Excite Ride pro ride, had 10 minutes but it eased back to 18kts so started losing ground, as the wind with tide was coming in hard.
Switched back to the 146 and finned down to my Ebay MFC 44cm and was kicking asses again as the sea flattened for a second 30 min session. I can’t jump port tack but for wave heads, there were some big swells near the marker.
The wind shifted so I has 2 great runs from the kite zone straight out past the markers out to sea, again another huge 25kt glide absolute brilliant, and coming back was kicking off some huge swells well spaced, yet closer in the water was flat.
Unfortunately the wind drop about 4.45 as I went on that famous last run, so struggled back.
All the kiters had gone as now high tide and could not be bothered to rig bigger. Finished up at the spa in the sauna :0
